Lake District Late Availability

Finding good accommodation in The Lake District at late notice is really hard. You are sure that somebody must have a room but the web is not well suited to finding it. Lots of separate sites and no glue joining them.

Well now there is some help available. Lake District Late Availability is a free service where accommodation owners advertise last minute availability and visitors to The Lakes can get notified via social networks when hotel, B&B rooms or cottages come available often due to cancellation. Find out more by visiting the site

Lake District Late Availability

I have been working hard on my new website about Lake District Late Availability recently which is dedicated to linking visitors to The Lake District with accommodation owners who have late availability often due to cancellations. It has proved a real hit with consumers and the owners alike.

A great Mortgage Adviser in Bollington, Macclesfield, Cheshire

I just thought you might like to know that I think that John Weston of Bradshaw Bennett did a really great job of advising me during the last few months when our mortgage came up for renewal of our fixed rate. In the current climate his help was highly invaluable. Macclesfield Independent Mortgage Adviser

Major work on the garden

We have been grafting hard at the weekend whilst our builders are mid way through doing the garden / patio up. It started off in a right mess and it has been a bold move to get to where we are. However, the progress is starting to show and it is looking like we are going to get a nice result. It is a bit stressful and very inconvenient for Amy and Kathryn but it will all be worth it!

Sumit sees sea for the first time

My Indian Colleague Sumit sees the sea for the first time in his life in Barcelona whilst at the Drupalcon! It is driving me crazy to be away from 2 week old Amy but needs must.

Amy Johnson

So 14 days overdue, the waiting is over, little Amy was born on 3rd September at 5:06 am weighing 3.2kgs (7lbs 1oz in old fashioned) with a healthy crop of auburn hair. Kathryn had a short labour without complication and I was present to help out for the two hours it took.

On the 4th we were all able to come home and enjoy our first day together. We are finding our way happily and beginning to understand what sleepless nights are. Fortunately I have the week off so am able to help Kathryn a lot which I am really enjoying. We are both totally overwhelmed with joy are are looking forward to introducing Amy to you all in the coming weeks.

Playing the waiting game

Seems a strange thing waiting for a baby to come, noone knows exactly when it will finally happen. We have plenty to occupy our minds, Kathryn is enjoying creating things for the nursery on the sewing machine and of course I still have DIY to distract me, oh joy!

Kathryn and an iminent bump

Still no news but we think it can't be long now. Due date is looming, 20th August. We have the house pretty well sorted now which comes as a great relief to us both. Now we can sit back and relax, wait and enjoy!

I had an unexpected business down to London on Friday, this was a bit too close to the due date for comfort, but the day passed without any new arrivals so that cames as a great relief!
