South Bay, Kaikoura - New Zealand. Stunning, stunning place, coastal scenery which is hard to rival. Fabulous come rain or shine (more often shine in Kaikoura ... locals claim there is a hole in the clouds above it!)

Kaikoura Sunset, New Zealand - What superb sunsets this place seems to get, every time I have been there.

Govenors Bay, nr Christchurch, SI - New Zealand

Sculpture, Christchurch City Centre - New Zealand

The Durian (arts centre) - Singapore. Magnificent architecure.

Statue, Singapore.

Rock Outcrop - Castle Hill Reserve, Arthurs Pass - South Island New Zealand. Curious limestone formations litter the landscape in this reserve, part way through the pass. Looks particulalry impressive on a winters day with low lying sun and snow all around.

Stoneybeck Inn, Penrith, Cumbria - England. Great pub grub on any day. Nice beer, friendly locals. We like!

Boats, Banks Peninsula, Canterbury - New Zealand

Rainy day on Grasmoor, Keswick, Cumbria - England. Magnificent views of the Northern Lakes, Derwent water and Keswick.

Sourmilk Ghyll, Grasmere, Cumbria - England. An easy walk to take kids, great even in the rain because the rivers are more impressive. Classic lakeland scenery and easy too!

Herdwick sheep, Lake District, Cumbria - England.

Peak Hill, Coleridge, Canterbury - New Zealand. A fantastic opportunity to enjoy 360 deg views from Lake Coleridge to Rakaia Gorge and the Alps. Access permission must be granted from Peak Hill station who are very friendly and happy to entertain trampers.

Baches, Boulder Bay, Christchurch - New Zealand

Taylors Mistake, Christchurch - New Zealand - Tucked away near Sumner is an idyllic area called Taylors and Godley Head. Take the cliff top wallk along to Boulder Bay and see some historic baches sitting on the waters edge. A couple of hours return stroll, superb coastal scenery.

Snowboarding - Mount Lyford, Canterbury. What a great place, friendly ski field suitable for learning as well as more advanced skiiers. Lyford village is a good example of how a developer can do good things, only log cabins here, in sympathy with the surroundings. Lyford Lodge is a superb facility offering bunk house and private rooms, at the foot of the mountains on the inland road to Kaikoura.

Mount Herbert, Banks Peninsula - New Zealand. Looking North over to Lyttleton Harbour on a crisp Autumn day with typically bright blue skies. Easily achieved summit and a nice relatively long linear trip from Orton Bradley Park and finishing at Diamond Harbour - a perfect walk if you are able to use 2 cars or are happy to hitch.

Letter box, nr Culverden, Canterbury - New Zealand. NZ is littered with an array of wonderful and imaginative post boxes. This one was even dressed up as a knight in shining armour one time we passed!

Port Hills in winter, Christchurch - New Zealand. The volcanic (dorment) port hills often have fascinating cloud formations rolling over them in winter.

Akaroa Harbour, Banks Peninsula - New Zealand

Sumner, Christchurch - New Zealand

Sumner, Christchurch - New Zealand. Presently home to us, surfing, sandy beach, cafes, a superb indian restraunts. A great back packers and some excellent up market accommodation too, why stay in the city when all this is just round the corner. So many tourists never even venture this far, only a bus ride away and fantastic on a sunny day.

Near Clyde, Otago - New Zealand. Keep your eyes peeled, in Summer there are apricot trees growing on public land with delicious fruits to be enjoyed. Obviuosly remnants of early settlers horticulture.

TS Earnslaw, Lake Wakatipu, Otago - New Zealand. A great way to spend a relaxing day nearby to Queenstown. A nice change from adrenalin rushes and a great trip for kids, see a working farm, sheep shearing and an afternnon tea included.

Cromwell, Otago - New Zealand. Living in Christchurch I have seen some examples of how New Zealand is sadly losing its heritage to the hands of developers. It was refreshing to see that in some way this was being 'preserved' in Cromwell, if indeed it was actaully being re-created. Clearly there are plans to further develop this historic styled street, more please!

St Bathans, Otago - New Zealand. Out of the way, back in time and peaceful. Nice pub, an art gallery and some remnants of open cast gold mining in the form of a huge brilliant blue lake. A worthwhile detour en route to or from Queenstown or a great place to escape the rat race completely.

Dart River Safari, Glenorchy - New Zealand. Can't recommend this trip enough. Great combination of thrills, spill and scenery bundled into an afternoon. Even get to have a fix of Lord Of The Rings scenery too. Very informative. NZ at its' best.

The Cadbury Factory, Dunedin - New Zealand. Touristy but worth a trip. Learn a lot and come out with pockets full of chocolate. Just like Willy Wonka, no umpa lumpas though!

Sandy Fly Bay, Otago Peninsula, Dunedin. A truly amazing beach, a must. Sea lions, sand dune surfing and awesome huge waves.
