Gesthemane Gardens, Christchurch - New Zealand.

An inspiring garden perched high above the city of Christchurch. Panoramic views, imaginative planting and only $5! Check out the huge ark they are building too.

Noahs Ark, Christchurch - New Zealand

High above Redcliffs and Sumner can be found Gethsemane gardens. A frequent venue for weddings, they are now building a magnificent structure to hold ceremonies in, Noahs Ark. It has to be seen to fully appreciate the scale of the project, great fun, and the roof even has an authentice sag in it.

Farmers Market, Tai Tapu - New Zealand

We were delighted to discover this farmers market in Tai Tapu (old Tai Tapu Road) which runs every Saturday 10am til 2pm. We arrived a little late, but enjoyed it regardless, and the cafe was superb, relaxing and a million miles from the hubub of Christchurch. Wonderful. On a French theme with verandahs and pretanque.

Old Villa, Chrischurch City Centre - New Zealand

Christchurch is littered with cranky crumbling villas which are thowbacks to the early settler days. Most rest empty, but sadly some people actually call them home.

Halswell Quarry, Christchurch - New Zealand

Primarily a sister city gardens, this recently new civic space is also home to some impressive examples of volcanic formations.

Trott's Garden

We have been missing stately home gardens being in New Zealand. It looks like we might have found something like it in Ashburton at Trott's Garden. We will have to go and have a look :)

There are never enough nice images on the internet. Most of it is filled with crap. However, Photoblogs.org is a great place and full of links with rich imagery.
